Lawn Service
Residential or Commercial, our team of lawn mowing technicians will keep your lawn areas looking great! We use commercial grade equipment, and we use the APPROPRIATE SIZE mowers for the lawn being serviced. Nearly all of our competitors use the biggest equipment they can, in the name of “productivity”; however, in many situations this can cause rutting, compaction, and turf damage over time.
We take the time to sharpen our mower blades daily, and we do this for two reasons. The first is plant health. It is much healthier for the turf grass itself to be mowed with sharp blades. A dull mower blade can essentially “tear” or “rip” the blade of grass, and this causes stress on the plant. The second reason we sharper our blades daily, is aesthetics. We have found that your lawn will look better when we are done if we use sharp mower blades. The clippings are finer and disperse on the lawn better, and there are few (if any) stragglers left behind when we are done. These factors, coupled with a rotation of mowing patterns, proper nutrition, adequate watering, and a consistent mowing schedule will result in a beautiful lawn you will be proud to own!
Landscape Enhancement
As part of this service, we would begin by cleaning up any debris from your landscape beds, pulling any weeds, and trimming up the shrubs and plants as needed. If there are old, tired, or dead plants that need removed (or if you just want to start over) we would gladly remove them for you.
Next, we would manicure the bed edge with either a bed edging machine, or using special edging spades. This step is where many of the competitors fall short, because we know that a properly edged bed must go to a proper depth, while at the same time not removing excess amounts of grass. Too many times I have heard that prior landscape companies will remove too much of the yard, thus increasing the size of the beds over time, and shrinking the lawn area.
Another step of this process that is often overlooked is the removal of the old mulch. While this step does not always have to be performed, it is certainly a Best Practice to evaluate the conditions of the beds before applying the new mulch. It is also true that mulch breaks down over time, and that a specific and uniform depth of mulch is ideal. This is why training our staff to perform this critical evaluation is essential for optimal results.
Spring and Fall Cleanup
When Spring arrives, we would be glad to spruce up your landscape beds, lawn, deck and patio by removing the leftovers from the long, cold winter. In the fall, we also have a variety of options for leaf removal. Since every property is different, and every customer has different expectations, we will work with you to create and execute a plan that works. Some of the popular options include bagging the leaves with our mowers, blowing the leaves to the curb, blowing the leaves out of the landscape beds, mulching the leaves into the grass with the mowers, or waiting until all the leaves have fallen to clean them all up. We can do this weekly, monthly, or just upon request.
Lawn Fertilization and Weed Control
We can setup a 4 to 5 step fertilization program to increase the health of your lawn and minimize unsightly weeds. We include a pre-emergent herbicide treatment in the Spring, and treat with a post-emergent herbicide at each subsequent visit. Ask about our premium organic-hybrid program, using Hologanix brand fertilizer.
